Reading In His Presence by Karen Ashby felt like a quiet moment I didn’t realize I needed. From the very beginning, I felt invited to slow down and just breathe, to step away from everything distracting me and focus on something deeper. The book didn’t feel overwhelming or complicated. Instead, it spoke to me gently, like a reminder that God’s presence isn’t something distant, but something I can experience every day if I choose to be still and aware. What stood out to me the most was how simple the message was. I’ve always thought growing spiritually had to be this big, perfect process, but this book helped me realize it’s really about consistency. Just taking small moments, whether it’s praying, reflecting, or sitting in silence, can actually bring peace and clarity. That idea stayed with me. It made me feel like building a relationship with God is possible, even in the middle of a busy or stressful life. There were times while reading when I felt comforted, almost like the words were meeting me exactly where I am. The tone of the book is calm and encouraging, and I appreciated how it didn’t judge or pressure me to be perfect.
